The seven elements of fitness are essential for establishing and maintaining health for any individual. The seven elements are the foundation to the human body. Without its foundation, the body will lose its integrity and will sooner than later die. These elements combined together, are what the body needs in order to lead a happy and healthier lifestyle.
All pound 4 pound fitness personal trainers guide each individual person in mastering the seven elements of fitness. These Elements, when balanced properly, are the formula to the success of any individual’s fitness goals.
All Seven Elements Explained
Caloric Intake
To obtain Weight Loss it all comes down to: “calories in vs. calories out”. If you consume more calories than you burn in a 24-hour period, then you will store the excess calories as fat. And if you burn more calories than you consume in a 24-hour period, then you will burn stored body fat. To know how much calories to consume and loose weight you must first know your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), this is the amount of calories you burn in a day just for being alive.
Cardio-Vascular Exercise
The definition for cardio-vascular exercise is: rhythmic movement of a large muscle group for a minimum of 20 minutes (not including a warm up and cool down). Cardio- vascular exercise has many health benefits such as: making the heart stronger and more efficient by improving blood circulation, which lowers blood pressure and oxygenates the organs and muscles in the body. Overall, cardio-vascular exercise is the best problem preventing medicine in the world.
Resistance Training
This is intended to make daily life more enjoyable and obtain slight hypertrophy. Our bodies are made to move, “If you don’t use it you lose it”. When muscles are not stimulated regularly they begin to shut down, then compensating muscles start to come into action and that is when people hurt themselves (ex: throw out back). But in the case of fat reduction, slight hypertrophy is needed to raise overall calorie incineration throughout the day. The more muscle the higher your BMR will be. Remember: a pound for muscle burns three times more calories than a pound of fat.
Joint Mobility (flexibility):
This is the element that is one of the most overseen elements of fitness and should not be looked at in such negligence. Poor posture (muscle deviations) and incorrect firing of muscle fibers are due to lack of flexibility in certain muscles. When certain muscles are not properly lengthened other muscles become tight and start to compensate, thus causing greater chance for injury. The more flexible you are the less chance you have at injuring yourself. The greatest aspect about flexibility is the fact that it is extremely easy to obtain it (just start to habitually stretch and see the difference yourself).
Micro nutrient Supplementation (Vitamins & Minerals):
Unless you eat “perfectly” balanced meals and snacks at all times, you probably are in need for at least some vitamins. Many individuals go along life and are not even aware of what they are actually eating. Most of the current foods consumed presently, are filled with nasty preservatives and lack nutrient diversity. The human body needs vitamins such as vitamin A, C, D, E, K, and B vitamins, for physiological processes such as growth, digestion and nerve function. Most importantly in the case of working out, vitamins strongly aid in strengthening your immune system, which is imperative for healing your muscles after a workout.
Positive Cognition
To accomplish anything in life you must have the ability to think positive. If you feel that you truly won't succeed and that you are destined for failure, you are setting yourself up for failure. One of the hardest things to do in life is the ability to control your mind and block out all the negative voices.
